AKIRA [Slasher]

#1

Hello everyone!
Wanna to introduce my last level. This is a Dark Souls style slasher, where the combat system is built around evasive rolls and parry. There are many enemies with diverse behaviors, and the most powerful opponents are optional, but a victory over them will bring scores at the end of the level.
Level inspired by Bloodborne, Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, Onimusha, Samurai Jack and works of Akira Kurosawa. I hope you enjoy it!

Hi Zedcocozza. I happened to try your level recently, before your post. I really liked the design and the mechanisms. The 1st scene reminds me the film "Sucker Punch".

But I'm not very good at that kind of levels so I died pretty early. Each time lol. I'll give it another try.

Anyway well done for this fabulous work!

Sebart75, Thanks! Just use more rolls (you can dodge right in the direction of the enemy when he attacks) and parry. I made the invulnerability windows large so that the level was not too difficult. Also, you can just ignore red swords with Legendary Souls if they are too hard for you.

Hello mate. I tried again and yes, I survived a bit more lol. The level is still really good anyway. I really thought your where japanese because of the mood and gameplay that you created perfectly.

I tried your other level AFTER and I love it. Reminds me of LIMBO.

Oh, my friend, pleeeeeaaaase you MUST tell me how you twik a level door automatically after a cinematic scene. I tried with a sequencer and a battery at the end but it doesn't seem to work!

I'm just using a counter (set to one, activated by anything what you need) that connected to the level link (Linked level should not be closed).

I live very close to Japan, but I haven’t been in it))

Thanx A LOT ! So simple that I didn't think about it yet lol. But what do you mean by "linked level should not be closed" ? You talk about the restricted levels with a key to open them ? Of course I assume that the linked level can (should) be a sub-level, so that it doesn't show on your planet (wich is my goal of course).

Ok, you must be around Vladivostok. I thought nobody lived over there ha ha. Sorry I could'nt help myself Wink Anyway I've never been to Japan neither, excepting from changing plane on my way to New Caledonia.
But I went to St Petersburg twice, it was great !

Yep, it must be sub-level and not closed (if it also will be closed, level link will be work just for you, not for everyone (I sometimes makes this mistake)).

Live a little north in the place called Sovetskaya Gavan.

And I still have not managed to visit St. Petersburg)) Maybe someday, my old childhood friends live there.

Thank you very much for the tip, it worked and now I have a whole story-based level using cinematics to link the sub-levels between them.

Yep, St-Petersburg seems to be far away from your home ^^'

Anyway thanx again, and BRAVO for your fantastic levels. (I tried "after" and I love it).

See you soon around here, buddy !
